The Best Way to Deliver Feedback
Well, Feedback is very important and crucial to growth as individuals, and as organizations its really important and helpful to improve the collective knowledge and performance within us. Feedback is a powerful way to increase and build knowledge and skills, increase more motivation an skills also, and develop reflective of mind in employees. Here are five simple ways by which you can make feedback more effective. Basically, Feedback is information about how we are doing in our efforts to reach a goal.
Feedback is a vital part of education and training. When the process of providing feedback is carried out well, the feedback can motivate learners and help them to improve their performances.
Make your feedback more effective:
The Feedback must be specific to be valuable, like it needs to be specific to a particular task or particular area of work. You have to point out the precise thing you are talking, and say why it was good or bad. Feedback must be précised to the topic. Being so generic reviews feedback meetings often fall in to the trap.
Make your feedback timely:
The best feedback is when you employees mind has got a fresh task in their hands. If you want your feedback to work it needs to be so much closed link to the associated behavior as possible. If you left giving feedback and wait until an official performance review meeting then, its sure that you and your employee will definitely going to forget the behavior that merited feedback in the first palce.
Make your feedback constructive:
Constructive feedback is information-specific, issue-focused, and based on observation. Constructive feedback will identify strength. Well its researched and utilized that the positive feedback for the employees are above pretty much anything else to work. So whilst I’m not going to advocate that you better start sugar coating things and avoid giving criticism where it’s due. So just try and ensure that your feedback has got positive hue to it. As its common that with any relationship, we tend to dwell more on the negative than the positive. So to ensure a better relationship with your team, you need to give them regular positive feedback. Positive feedback is news or input to an employee about an effort well done. Negative feedback is news to an employee about an effort that needs more improvement. Negative feedback doesn’t mean that a terrible performance, it means that rather a performance in which the outcomes delivered should be better. So here we can say that Negative is not a negative word considered in this case.
The guidelines for giving constructive feedback fall into four categories:
Content is what you say in the constructive feedback.
. In your first sentences, identify the topic or issue that the feedback will be about.
. Provide the specifics of what occurred.
Manner is how you say the constructive feedback. As you may know, how you say something often carries more weight than what you have to say. Manner is an important element when giving feedback.
Timing means to answer ASAP( as soon as possible). Feedback is meant to be given in real-time, as close as possible to when performance incident occurs so that events are fresh in everyone’s mind. When the feedback is given well after the fact, the value of the constructive feedback is lessened.
Well this is the last guideline but the most important because it makes all the other guidelines work. Use constructive feedback regularly to acknowledge real performance. Try to catch and respond to employees doing the job right just as much as you catch and respond to them doing something not quite right and don’t acknowledge how they are performing only once or twice a year.
Make your feedback personal:
You recruited this people in your team, what does it mean? They are special obvious, right ? So treat them by showing personal interest. For instance if you are praising them, Why don’t you just do it in public so this will make them feel proud and build their interest in work and buy this the rest of the team know what a great job they have done. This will motivate them to work with more interest. There is also another great way to show that you have taken the time to think of them and appreciate the work they do by writing notes in your own handwriting. So personal Feedback is also very important.
Make your feedback Sincere:
Don’t play the ploy with the people, always sincere. People are mostly pretty good at telling if we are feeding them, so make sure that your feedback is also comes from your heart and with full sincerity. When you fee its due don’t be afraid to give feedback, but equally, don’t try and fake it. So never even think to make your feedback without sincerity, always be sincere.
